Fall is in the air and if you’re looking to venture out to pick your own pumpkins or apples, there are plenty of places to choose from! Here’s a list to get you started.

Pumpkin Patches

Carolyn’s Country Cousins Pumpkin Patch

Open daily September 21 – October 31, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and you will probably need every minute of that time to take advantage of all this place has to offer! The farm has more than 50 acres of pumpkins growing on the vine – they take you out into the fields in a hay wagon and pick you up after you make your selections! There’s also a giant selection of pumpkins already picked. Kids will enjoy little bud’s railroad, pig races, a petting farm, a pumpkin jumpin’ pad and a country carousel! There’s also plenty of other places for the kids to explore, like fort liberty bend, little munchkin corn maze, mining camp and corny corral.

Open Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. & Saturday – Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., September 27 through October 31. A horse-drawn wagon ride will take you to and from the patch where you can pick a pumpkin. Kids can ride the Pumpkin Hollow Express, a barrel train pulled by a real farm tractor! At the patch you can also venture into their corn maze, climb a hay pyramid, play in a corn box and slide down a giant hay slide.

Younger kids can explore the giant tunnel maze, silo play yard, junior rally cars and the renovated block bus or new corn bin pit. Bigger kids will enjoy the big kid fort barn, ping pong tables and the new mustang rally car course! There’s also a 10-acre corn maze, a farm animal corral with weekend pig races, or you can watch their pumpkin popper shoot pumpkins across the lake!

This year oKCtoberfest will be October 17 – 19. A 5 ticket includes a complimentary hard cider slush (21+) or traditional apple cider (non-alcoholic), as well as live entertainment and food trucks! The Louisburg Cider Mill & Pumpkin Patch features a 10-acre pumpkin patch and a 10-acre corn maze. There’s also a children’s play area, which includes a slide, corn crib, tire tower, low challenge elements, hay wagon rides, a spider web climber, a tricycle track and a giant swing set! For a more educational experience, there’s also a bee hive exhibit, farm animals, a learning barn and an orchard trail!

40th annual Ciderfest: September 28 & 29, October 5 & 6, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. For two weekends every autumn, Louisburg Cider Mill brings you some good old-fashioned apple cider fun.

McWilliams Pumpkin Patch

Open Tuesday – Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., from September 28 – October 31. Take a wagon ride or hop on the pumpkin patch express to see pumpkins growing in the field! You can make your way through the animal maze, find your way through a 30-acre corn maze, or slide down a 40-foot slide! There’s also a zipline that runs Saturdays and Sundays as well as a mini zipline that the kids can enjoy!

Open daily mid-September through October 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Take a wheelbarrow out to the pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkins and gourds or choose from a wide variety already picked! They also have two mazes and hay bales to climb on.

Weston Orchard and Vineyard

Open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. everyday. One of the newest pumpkin patches in the area, you can pick pumpkins on the vine and enjoy a hayride. Kids can enjoy the jumping pillow, corn maze, zipline and corn crib as well. They also have more than 17,000 apple trees where you can pick your own fruit!

Weston Red Barn Farm

Open weekends through the first weekend of November, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., weather permitting. Hop on a hayride for a trip to the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin or apples! You can also take the family to enjoy pony rides, the corn maze, or the turn of the century barnyard, complete with a chicken house, goats, sheep, piglets and more.

Cider Hill Family Orchard

Open through the end of October, Tuesday – Saturday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Pick your own apples and enjoy treats like cider donuts, kettle corn and apple cider slushes. You can also take a hayride, relax by the fire pit, or shop in their cottage store, while the kids enjoy a train ride.
